Nancy S. Hawkins

Nancy is the director/president of Starkville Gymnastics, Inc.   After receiving her BS and M.ED degrees in health, physical education, and recreation from Mississippi State University, Nancy taught in Birmingham, Alabama and at Wood Jr. College in Mathiston, MS before opening Starkville Gymnastics, Inc. in 1989.  Nancy has been  the chairperson of the Mississippi Recreational Gymnastics Association since its inception in 1988.  She is a professional member of the United State Association of Gymnastics, served on the MS USAG State Administrative Committee for eight years before becoming State Administrative Committee Chairperson in 2000, a member of the National Association of Women’s Gymnastics Judges, and is presently a Level 9 judge.  Nancy is married to Thomas G. Hawkins and has one son, Sandy Lay.

Thomas G. Hawkins (TG)

TG went to Mississippi State University with under-graduate work in both Business Administration and Electrical Engineering. From 1992 through 2001 he built houses here in the city of Starkville, since then with the growth of Starkville Gymnastics he has devoted his time at improving the technology base of the facility and overall community awareness of Starkville Gymnastics. TG has returned to his love of computers in web site design and network administration, he is the IT and Media Relations director at Starkville Gymnastics. TG is husband to Nancy Hawkins and step father to Sandy Lay.

Emily Mayer

Emily is co-head coach of the Starkville Gymnastics team.  She has a BA degree in psychology from the University of Memphis.  Emily received her gymnastics training at River City Gymnastics in Memphis and competed as a Level 9 and placed fourth all-around at regionals.  At the conclusion of her competitive career, she began coaching at her home gym and has also coached at ConXion Sports Center.
